WHY WAGYU?
Not only does Wagyu have melt in your mouth flavor, but it has surprising health benefits you may not know. First we want to help you understand exactly what Akaushi Wagyu is.
In 1994 the heart of the Akaushi heard, also now as Japanese Red, was brought to the US. A distinct, and rare breed of Japanese Wagyu was from the southern island of Kyushu. The same closed heard and multi-trait selection process used in Japan, is now used in the Us by the American Akaushi Association. The lineage of the American Akaushi can be traced back over 30 generations to the origin of the breed. American Akaushi Ranchers work hard to ensure the breed’s world class genetics are preserved.
All Akaushi is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu is Akaushi. Akaushi is known for it’s rich, buttery, melt in your mouth flavor. These cattle have consistent, tender, and beautifully marbled meat. Akaushi beef lands right in the middle of the marbling spectrum. The beef from this breed has a rich flavor and deep meaty taste. Akaushi blends perfectly with the intensity of Prime Angus creating a melt in your mouth and fork tender product.
Akaushi beef is an extremely healthy steak, and is a favorite among meat connoisseurs. Akaushi is known to be one of the healthiest and most favorable meats available.
~Healthy Fats: Due to it’s high level of fat marbling, Wagyu Beef has 50% more
Monounsaturated Fat than most other cuts of commercial beef. Considered a healthy fat that contains essential fatty acids and nutrients, commonly found in olive oil, nuts and avocados.
~Omegas: Wagyu is rich in Omega 3 and Omega Fatty Acids. These are essential acids that the body cannot produce. These help the body protect against things like heart disease, high blood pressure, and arthritis.
~Lower Cholesterol: Wagyu Beef has the lowest cholesterol levels of all meats. It has even been compared to fish and chicken. Wagyu can help lower bad cholesterol while increasing good cholesterol.
